Prisoners Mai Thi Dung and Do Thi Minh Hanh transferred

Where have two seriously ill prisoners of conscience from Xuan Loc Z30A Camp been transferred to?

Trương Minh Đức (Danlambao) - Translated by Jasmine Tran - Earlier today, Sunday 6/10/2013, a prisoner’s relative visited K5 Prison of Xuan Loc Z30 Camp. According to this relative, the two female prisoners Mai Thi Dung and Do Thi Minh Hanh have been transferred out of this camp since October the 1st, 2013.

Ms Mai Thi Dung has announced a hunger strike in objection to the prison authority’s decision disallowing her access to medical help. On the 1st of October, the same day Ms Dung was visited by her husband earlier, a camp vehicle took Dung and Minh Hanh to an unknown place.

6 days have already passed since; the prisoners’ families have not received any notice from Xuan Loc Z30A Camp about the transfer nor regarding where they are detained.

Recently Ms Mai Thi Dung and Do Thi Minh Hanh both have struggled with serious health problems. The public has feared greatly for their health condition and continuously rallied for medical intervention in their case. But still no notice about any medical aid for the prisoners, nor any replies to sent letters have been received by their families.

These two female prisoners were both transferred in very critical health conditions without any notice from the prison. Their relatives question whether they have been transferred to the North, or to receive medical attention.

Of course, an official reply from the prison is a necessary obligation according to the imprisonment law regulations of the Vietnamese communist party.
